Welcome to Mount Vernon Baptist Church's Pre-School Department where you can learn information regarding our Pre-school and After-School Care program. The program at Mount Vernon is in it's first year under the direction of Jennifer Meyers (Click for Bio) who is the Director of Operations at the Pre-School. Mount Vernon is very blessed to be able to offer this service to the community and we take great pride in teaching and directing your children and God's children throughout their early years.

Mission Statement

  Our Purpose is to provide a Christian environment through a variety of learning and playing experiences that contribute to the spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of each child. We strive to provide a safe and loving atmosphere, so that parents/gaurdians can feel secure leaving their child (ren) in our care.


Objectives

  To educate the hearts and minds of children to love God, others, and self; To develop a positive self-concept, understanding self as a unique and complete person; To develop opportunities to be with other children and help him.her learn how to have wholesome social relationships; To provide opportunities for meaningful play that will be based on each child's individual needs, interests, and abilities, and that will build important foundations for futue reading skills and academic success
